Commercial Loans
A commercial loan is a debt-based funding arrangement between a business and a financial institution, typically used to fund major capital expenditures and or cover operational costs that the company may otherwise be unable to afford. The proceeds from a commercial mortgage are typically used to acquire, refinance, or redevelop the commercial property. Commercial mortgages are structured to meet the needs of the borrower and the lender. Key terms include the loan amount (sometimes referred to as “loan proceeds”), interest rate, the term (sometimes referred to as the “maturity”), amortization schedule, and prepayment flexibility.
